Pay Range: $28.46-$39.84/hour

Job Description
The Safety Specialist will foster and support an inclusive and high-performance operation where team member and customer safety is at the forefront. This role assigns and oversees the work of team members, stepping in to provide hands-on help when needed to exceed customer expectations. The Safety Specialist mentors and develops the skills of leads, agents, and trainers for continuous growth and learning. By demonstrating open and honest two-way communication the Safety Specialist ensures a successful operation at the station. Conducts safety and quality training within the station, as directed.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates safety and quality initiatives.
Reviews station employee injury trends and directs corrective action.
Reviews aircraft damage and directs corrective action.
Conducts Risk Assessments as directed. Ensures that Risk Assessments are completed at the station level.
Coordinates safety promotion initiatives.
Coordinates quality initiatives.
Assist station level training requirements to ensure that all training requirements are satisfactorily met.
Assist/Train/Coordinate as requested by the station Safety Manager.
Maintain all break room bulletin boards.
Ensure all incidents/ accidents are reported, investigated, and entered timely.
Assist with station Read & Signs.
Maintain open and honest communication that creates an inclusive, engaging and high-performance culture that demonstrates McGee’s values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride.
Perform other duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of airline experience with proven skills in station operations, including one of the following areas: passenger service, cargo handling, fleet service, and ground operations preferred.
Experience coaching and counseling employees on performance related issues preferred.
Skilled in all aspects of aircraft servicing, loading, baggage and cargo handling.
Self-motivated individual able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Able to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup.
Proven ability to direct the work of others in a positive way.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
Ability to obtain & maintain an airport SIDA badge and US Customs seal.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include some early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Airport Badge Requirements: Important notification for roles working at or requiring access to an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority. Depending on the role you may also be required to obtain a US Customs seal and/or USPS security clearance. If an employee does not qualify for or has the necessary clearance revoked, the employee will be terminated.
