Position Overview and Responsibilities
This highly technical and specialized position is responsible for complete oversight of grant portfolios from award activation to award closure, including Oil Spill Awards. The position disseminates State and Federal policy, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance, and reports to the FWRI Grants Manager. Key duties include:
Coordinate with the FWRI Grants Manager, FWC and FWRI staff to consult with awarding agencies and resolve award issues.
Review award packets, route for execution, and ensure accurate coding, including creation and setup of organization and Project Identification (PID) codes.
Assist section staff and Principal Investigators on award budgets, and maintain accurate GC drive folders, AmpliFund, and Laserfiche files.
Ensure awards comply with administrative and financial policies and meet reporting and payment deadlines.
Oversee award close‑out processing, deactivate PIDs, update grant lists, and manage records retention.
Develop and implement grant‑management training for FWRI staff on federal, state, and agency regulations and processes.
Maintain grant information in the FGTS and the Research Approval Form (RAF) site.
Perform related work on Oil Spill management and public outreach as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) years of professional direct related experience in administrative, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, program monitoring, education, social services, health, or rehabilitative services.
Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience can substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Professional or non‑professional administrative, grant fiscal, program evaluation/monitoring, or education experience.
Experience in grant administration and knowledge of State and federal rules and regulations that govern grants.
Requirements
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Level 1 background check at no cost to the candidate.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should have knowledge of basic principles of grant and/or contract management, general accounting principles, and problem‑solving. They must plan, organize, and direct program activities, analyze and interpret accounting data, work independently, communicate effectively, maintain professional relationships, prioritize workload, use Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and relevant grant‑management systems, and provide excellent customer service.
