Overview
The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for accurately registering outpatients, obtaining blood samples, and performing EKGs. Duties are performed under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and/or designee and must be appropriate to the age and level of difficulty of the patient (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics).

Responsibilities

Register outpatients accurately, obtain blood samples, and perform EKGs, demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient’s age and level of difficulty (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics).

Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of specimen procurement for patients as they progress through the life cycle.

Maintain communication with other departments.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assists Supervisor in training.

Assume a leadership role and use problem-solving methods in the absence of the supervisor or as weekend Lead Phlebotomist.

Requirements

Medical Terminology, ICD 10 coding and CRT data experience strongly preferred.

Strong customer service skills.

Knowledge of third-party payer, federal and state regulations desired.

Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player.

Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred.

Salary and Benefits
Salary range: 18.47 - 28.61 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by factors including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
