Location: Southfield, MI
Schedule: 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Summary
The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Position Responsibilities
Experience doing blood draws.
Labeling specimens.
Centrifuging specimens.
Recording maintenance data and decontamination.
Updating patient information.
Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.
Explaining the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection clearly and courteously.
Demonstrating technique using straight and/or butterfly needles.
Fully understanding all physicians' orders.
Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order.
Checking all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% accuracy.
Packaging specimens for transport.
Storing specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in (continued)
