Manufacturing experience/ Equipment Handling

We don’t need a formal degree, just some level of technical experience. Military is often a great recruit and so are folks either manufacturing, merchandising, assembly etc.

Responsibilities

The laboratory assistant works with our senior staff to process lab samples, perform tests, and record and analyze results.

Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests. Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.

Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.

Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software. As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.

Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.

Records and explains test results.

Reads and interprets results of tests.

Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.

Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.

Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions. As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.

Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.

Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.

Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.

Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.

Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific field and a good understanding of laboratory information systems and laboratory equipment.
