
Medical Assistant - Urgent Care

Description
A Medical Assistant (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. The MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or at least one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
Minimum 6 months healthcare experience.
Minimum 6 months medical assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
