
Grocery Manager

The Grocery Manager at Albertsons Companies is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction, building a reputation for Ultimate Service, and assuming total store responsibility in the absence of the Store Director or Assistant Store Director. The role leads the efficient, effective, safe, legal and profitable operations of the grocery, frozen, and dairy departments, coordinates human relations within those departments, and ensures timely execution of all company and department policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon entry to the department.
Maintain proper stock levels in grocery, dairy, and frozen departments.
Interview, train, schedule, evaluate performance, and manage productivity of all grocery department team members, including frozen, dairy, grocery, and night crew.
Complete and communicate performance evaluations in a timely manner within the department.
Manage all dairy, frozen, and grocery merchandising and ensure proper rotation procedures are enforced.
Order all seasonal merchandise and maintain records of movement.
Coordinate and maintain all displays and quantity purchases.
Prepare grocery and dairy/frozen ad estimates and handle purchasing.
Collaborate with all grocery DSD partners on displays and buy‑ins.
Ensure backroom organization, safety, and stock level for frozen and dairy vaults, and the area behind the store.
Delegate responsibilities to motivate and instill excellence in department team members.
Coordinate cleanliness and maintenance needs with the Service Operations Manager for equipment, fixtures, displays, floors, ceilings, and décor.
Control, safeguard, and monitor all store assets, implementing policies and procedures for asset protection.
Perform other duties as requested or required by upper management.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one year of store experience.
Average of 45 hours per week, including multiple opening, closing, and day shifts as needed.
Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for up to 6 hours, bend, lift, and perform all other physical aspects of the job.
Team‑oriented mindset and ability to get along with others.
Open to supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
