We are looking for a Fire Alarm Service Estimator based in our Clinton, MD office.
Description
As a Fire Alarm Service Estimator, you will support the account management team in delivering break/fix services and parts‑and‑smart solutions. Your responsibilities include preparing estimates, proposals and bid reviews, conducting document reviews, cost value analysis, cost and systems reviews, analysis and comparisons, historical evaluations, and participating in bid processes in alignment with company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.
About the position
Specific duties cover:
Plan and monitor estimating activities for each project to ensure quality and accuracy, including collecting quotes from subcontractors, performing estimates, scheduling tasks, and meeting goals and standards.
Review all bid documents with account managers to determine general expenses, labor rates, and other costs; use estimating software to produce accurate estimates.
Survey job sites as needed to scope work and identify the most cost‑effective and efficient plans.
Compose estimate documents professionally and assist in procurement, RFPs, bids, and related reports.
Ensure all estimates and RFPs meet customer and company satisfaction standards.
Work with purchasing to reduce material buyout risk; collaborate with design on design‑build and design‑assist projects to ensure accuracy and constructability; provide coaching, mentoring, and training as needed.
Make safe decisions to protect self and others.
Utilize LEAN or other continuous improvement methodologies for efficient operations.
Promote company mission, vision, values, and ethical business practices while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications
1–5 years of fire alarm service/construction estimating experience and knowledge of common code requirements and design/build estimating.
Basic fire alarm training, and experience in service or installation; understanding of project life cycles.
Associate degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proficient reading of contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications; solid knowledge of electrical and life safety codes, and local building department requirements.
Experience with LEAN methodologies or similar continuous‑improvement frameworks.
Superior analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication, including high‑quality documentation and report preparation.
Strong problem‑solving, detail orientation, time‑management, and customer‑service skills.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.
