Position Overview
The Housekeeping Associate works out of the Lake Bluff, IL location in the Global Engineering Services (GES) team. Responsibilities include facility cleaning and support within a manufacturing and research environment at Abbott Lake County, adhering to quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform regulated cleaning procedures in production laboratories, manufacturing support laboratories, research laboratories, and common support areas such as lavatories, office areas, and break rooms.
Execute cross-contamination cleaning methods and prepare radioactive and biohazard housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal.
Prepare cleaning solutions based on GMP‑regulated mixing instructions.
Conduct microbial control cleaning techniques on walls, ceilings and floors following GMP schedules.
Complete GMP documentation attestation logs, work orders, and training documents.
Operate handheld electronic documentation units and print or record GMP logs.
Perform preventive maintenance on housekeeping equipment such as battery maintenance, squeegee adjustments, air‑pressure checks, and filter checks.
Support recycling programs for glass, paper, corrugated cardboard, and plastic.
Operate walk‑behind or ride‑on scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, bailing and compacting equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of initial training course provided by LC Housekeeping.
Ability to read and understand corporate quality documents, SOPs, safety guidelines, and operating instructions.
Accurate and legible written documentation compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
Computer proficiency to complete compliance and technical training, download daily work instructions, and sync data to the CMMS for GMP review and archiving.
The base pay for this position is $15.45 – $29.00 per hour, subject to location variations.
