Summary
The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position primarily fulfills our mission: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display, pulls, register procedures and routine cleaning). The role works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range:
$18–$22 per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related factors.
For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus 3 % commission on sales. The range listed is the estimated base rate plus commission for Teammates in this position.

Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience.
Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge and education with Team.
Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
Remain consistent on personal sales, and look for opportunities to impact teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
Provide legendary service throughout the store in these top four areas: Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
Be knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures for Guests and turn these into a showmanship opportunity.
Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
Investigate and navigate how to expand Guest selection through inventory management, advanced product search, iPad apps, etc.
Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
Lead by example with high showmanship, excellent customer service, and attentiveness.
Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the Team.
Ask business‑driven and showmanship questions to Manager, Team Leaders, and teammates.
Coachable—allow Manager to educate them in their sales presentation.
Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present.
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development

Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines.
Execute and teach all POS procedures.
Handle calls from Corporate Office appropriately.

Implement payment, exchange, and Loss Prevention policies.
Navigate and use all tools on the home page.
Guide and give feedback to non‑sales positions.
