Post Doctoral Scholar – AI in Arts and Humanities – Department of Linguistics, Department of Arts and Sciences, The Ohio State University.
Position Overview
Two‑year term appointment beginning August 2026 and ending August 2028. The scholar will conduct research in AI large language model interpretability, refine course materials, and contribute to the AI Fluency initiative.
Responsibilities
The Post Doctoral Scholar will:
Conduct research on AI large language model interpretability, including behavioral experiments and data analysis.
Apply interpretability methods such as causal interventions, dictionary learning, and circuit analysis.
Supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects.
Prepare and publish research results in papers, reports, and other media.
Revise existing course materials and develop new modules on AI interpretability for general education courses.
Teach two courses annually and support the AI Language and Mind Certificate.
Performance Objectives
Maintain a steady record of publication in AI interpretability and develop collaborative projects with OSU faculty.
Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in Linguistics, Computer and Information Science, or a related field.

Residence: Columbus, OH area. Salary: $61,008 annually with a $7,500 research account.
