
Environmental Scientist

French & Parrello Associates is actively seeking an experienced full-time Environmental Scientist to join our Wall, New Jersey Office. This candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment providing due diligence and remediation services.
Responsibilities
Assist with environmental field activities including soil, groundwater, indoor air, and soil gas sampling, monitoring well installations, well gauging, and remedial excavation oversight under the supervision of senior staff and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs).
Collect, record, and organize field data and assist with preparation of field documentation and reports.
Support project managers with data tabulation, management, and interpretation of laboratory analytical results.
Assist in the preparation of technical and regulatory reports such as Preliminary Assessments (PA), Site Investigations (SI), Remedial Investigations (RI), Remedial Action Workplans (RAW), and Remedial Action Reports (RAR).
Conduct site visits and assist with site assessments while documenting observations and communicating findings to project teams.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Operate company vehicles, field equipment, and basic sampling tools in support of environmental investigations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related technical degree from an accredited university.
1–4 years of full-time professional environmental experience, preferably in site remediation, UST closures, or environmental due diligence in New Jersey.
Familiarity with the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites (ARRCS), the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR), and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Field Sampling Procedures Manual (FSPM) and associated guidance documents is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in field and office environments.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire) and maintain current 8-hour refresher courses.
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, including ESRI’s ArcGIS, is a plus.

Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
