Position Summary
We are recruiting one or more temporary, part‑time lecturers to join a pool. Instructors will be considered for appointments as positions become available for the Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027.

Duties of the Position
Teaching assignments may be in lower‑ or upper‑division courses in the following areas: American Government, Public Law, Political Theory, and Comparative Government. Courses may include American Political Institutions, California Politics/Public Policy, and others. Assignments may occur at California State University, East Bay, including the Hayward campus, Concord Center, or online.
Rank and Salary
Lecturer.
Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Appointment is subject to budgetary authorization.
Lecturer AY (Range 2) – $5,507 – $6,677
Lecturer AY (Range 3) – $6,221 – $13,224
Lecturer AY (Range 4) – $6,825 – $14,523
Lecturer AY (Range 5) – $8,593 – $15,211
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
Date of Appointment
Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
Qualifications
Minimum M.A. in Political Science. Ph.D. in Political Science or J.D. (law) preferred. Some university teaching experience is required.
