VP Credit Administration

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides leadership and oversight for the Loan Servicing and Appraisal teams, loan systems, and the consumer lending channel at American Bank and Trust. This role is accountable for team development, operational and regulatory risk oversight, and continuous process improvement. The Loan Operations & Systems Manager also serves as a key liaison across Credit Administration, Compliance, IT, Retail, Commercial, and Business Banking to ensure lending operations are efficient, compliant, scalable, and well controlled.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILIBLES (90%):

Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Loan Servicing and Appraisal teams, including staffing, performance management, training, and employee development.

Develop and maintain bench strength through cross‑training, succession planning, and coaching.

Oversee exception reporting, operational quality, and trend analysis related to loan documentation and data quality, as well as appraisal/evaluation values.

Serve as a system administrator and subject matter expert for lending platforms.

Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations, including testing, validation, training, and post‑implementation support.

Lead and manage operational projects and initiatives, with collaboration between key business partners. Improve borrower and lender experience through streamlined processes.

Identify, evaluate, and implement automation and efficiency opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve accuracy, and enhance scalability.

Provide operational oversight and support for the consumer lending channel, including leadership of system due diligence efforts and the development of a future centralized support model.

Support the Business Banking Assistant function by helping develop consistent processes and providing training support.

Provide oversight and coordination for key regulatory and compliance areas.

Serve as the primary operational lead for loan‑related acquisition and conversion activities.

Ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures across areas of responsibility and throughout our lending channels.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (10%):

Represents Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promotes Bank's favorable image.

Remains knowledgeable and abreast of industry trends.

Compliance with bank policies and procedures and federal and state laws/ regulations.

Other duties may be assigned.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of experience within banking or a related financial services field.

A minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience.

Preferred experience in Lending Operations, Credit, or Commercial Banking and/or Retail Banking.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of lending processes, systems, regulations and policies.

Ability to interact with employees with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

Meets or exceeds all training requirements. Proactively promotes and develops new customer relationships using the referral system.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional out‑of‑town and overnight business travel may be required. Work on some Saturdays will be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
