Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Field Supervisor-Security.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for overseeing the Security Operations activities, inspecting security posts, and reviewing and solving security incidents.

Job Responsibilities

Submits written reports of personnel and security posts deficiencies. Manages problems, issues or operational matters in a proactive manner. Refers matters to the next level of supervision, when appropriate.

During the absence of the senior supervisor, conducts roll call, inspects and assigns personnel to security posts to ensure proper coverage. Ensures staff report to work, are fit for duty, and sign in for attendance and payroll purposes. Effectively communicates information needed for efficient operations of the shift, evaluates staffing assignments to ensure all posts are covered effectively, and inspects subordinates to ensure compliance with uniform policy.

Trains and orients new security personnel on overall Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures new staff are competent and have all necessary tools and equipment to perform their job. Assists in probationary evaluations as needed.

Responds to emergencies, fire alarms, etc. to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. Ensures staff are fully aware and competent in emergency preparedness. Works with all members of the medical center family to ensure the safety and well‑being of all.

Maintains a chain of communication with oncoming shift supervisors to appraise them of incidents and information that may affect their shift and the medical center operations. Reads and shares incident highlights from prior shifts and uses creative methods to keep information flowing on each shift. Utilizes operations logs and other tools to pass information along.

Institutes action to correct any safety and/or security concerns and conducts proper notifications. Takes necessary and immediate action to investigate or correct hazards, notifies superiors, and ensures an appropriate report is prepared.

Inspects security posts to ensure personnel performance and compliance with the duties of the various posts. Trains security personnel on the requirements, descriptions, and standards for each post assignment. Takes immediate disciplinary action when job performance is not in compliance with Medical Center and Departmental policies and procedures. Provides appropriate level of supervision, ensures post conditions are favorable, and communicates new instructions or reinforces operational needs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Reviews, investigates, and follows up on reports of incidents and complaints recorded by security personnel to determine accuracy of documentation and resolutions. Ensures reports are complete, accurate, and timely. Manages, documents, and thoroughly investigates any complaints of subordinates and notifies superiors in a timely manner.

Oversees Security Operations in a proactive manner. Ensures security programs and initiatives are adhered to by subordinates. Follows departmental programs and standards, as well as other medical center standards, and maintains continuity of information for all shifts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

NYS Security Guard License

Preferred Qualifications

Active valid NYS Driver's License

Prior experience working in a healthcare setting

Fire Safety Directors Certificate

Salary
Salary range: $66,299.99 - $81,400.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other forms of compensation.
