
Commercial Escrow Officer - Green Brick Title

The Commercial Escrow Officer will work with the President to handle all commercial transactions, including interim construction loans, lot takedowns and transfers, all nature of commercial closings, and assist the residential team as needed.
Responsibilities
Lot Takedown Closings
Open base file on new subdivision when contracts are received
Communicate with all parties in the transaction
Deposit earnest money as necessary, send wiring instructions as needed
Send out Critical Dates letters as provided
Maintain Closing Calendar, workflow status for all commercial closings
Review and share title commitments
Maintain Base Files for subdivisions – amendments to contracts, recorded plats, and various
Assist with curing objection letter items
Review Builder lot lists and make changes, reorder and communicate as necessary
Takedown orders to be turned in to insure on‑time closing
Request all information from builders, lender, HOA, surveyors, realtors, others for closing
Prepare settlement statements and closing docs to send to seller/builder/lender for closing
Close, fund the file, send out wires and checks, ship file, and prepare for policy
Pull, execute and deliver signed title policies and binders
Commercial Closings
Turn in order when contract is received
Deposit earnest money
Send Critical Dates letter to all parties
Send commitment out to all parties
Assist with curing objection letter items
Order closing docs, taxes and any HOA that may affect the property
Work up settlement statement and closing docs for closing.
Maintain communication with all parties
General
Maintain Escrow Officer License and Notary Public in good standing
Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
Manage and handle all phases of the escrow and closing process for raw land acquisition, lot acquisition and lot takedowns, including related financing
Send critical date letters
Send and revise title commitments, respond to title objection letters
Order closing documents, taxes, UCC searches and HOA clearance items
Prepare settlement statements
Maintain communication with all parties
Other duties as assigned

This position carries the high‑level critical decision‑making responsibility and has the ability to manage the Commercial closing process. This is an exempt position.

Qualifications
College Degree
Juris Doctorate is helpful but not required
Experience
1-3 years experience as a commercial escrow officer
Proficient with Qualia
Escrow License required for regulatory compliance with transaction functions
Notary Public, required
Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry, particularly related to single family development and lot takedowns
High level understanding of title exceptions and curative actions
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills
Able to work with a team in a fast‑paced, high volume environment

Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
