Job Description
Designs truss components and truss repairs for MiTek customers and creatively solve engineering issues our customers have.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
This role will work a hybrid schedule based out of our office in Chesterfield, MO.
Responsibilities
Creatively design field repairs for truss components in accordance with acceptable engineering principles and judgment.
Design truss components based on specified parameters from customers and use their knowledge of engineering and the building codes along with collaboration with other engineers in the office to ensure their designs protect the health safety and welfare of the public.
Discuss design modifications and review appropriate design methodologies with customers.
Assist, train, and counsel customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
Review results of the truss design software for accuracy and collaborate with other engineers and with the software development team to determine how the software should function.
Collaborate with engineers, architects and building officials on customer component design projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering field required.
0-1 years of related experience.
Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Ability to perform technical skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, basic calculus, physics, statistics, and strength of materials, structural analysis.
Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) — Any State Board preferred.
