Job Summary:
A transit bus driver is a professional who is responsible for transporting passengers in a van or small bus. The driver typically follows a set route or schedule and may make multiple stops along the way to pick up or drop off passengers.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers.
Operate the bus/van on scheduled times, following a pre-determined route.
Pick up passengers on dispatched request for transportation.
Operate the van/bus on scheduled activities.
Respond to medical emergencies or injuries.
Conduct a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle each day.
Check for vehicle damages, monitor oil change requirements, etc.
Report any issues with the vehicle to the supervisor.
Complete maintenance requests.
Fuel bus/van at the end of each shift and throughout the day as necessary.
Clean the inside of the bus/van at the end of each daily operation.
Behave in a courteous and respectful manner.
Treat others with respect.
Maintain all necessary records.
Follow all established safety policies and procedures.
Follow all DOT guidelines and rules of the road.
All other duties as assigned.
