Physical Therapist
to step into a
Lead PT
role within our acute care setting.
In this position, you will collaborate and communicate closely with a team of acute care Physical Therapists while supporting
process improvement initiatives , clinical excellence, and continued high‑quality patient care. This is an excellent next step for a PT looking to grow into a leadership role while remaining hands‑on with patients.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park‑like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The inpatient physical therapy department of BJWCH provides rehabilitation services to patients within an acute care environment. Our staff of experienced, efficient physical therapists and assistants communicate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers and work closely with patients to develop safe, personalized rehabilitation programs that aid the patient in improving mobility and returning to daily functional activities.
Role Purpose
Oversees daily operations and clinical practice of therapy programs, including direct patient care, clinical quality, regulatory, staff and student education. Assists manager with oversight and management of therapy services.
Responsibilities
Educates, collaborates with, and conferences with patients, families, and other health care providers; making recommendations for referrals to specialists as needed.
Delegates to assistants, techs, and students through written and verbal communication including determining the skill level or competency required to provide interventions to best meet the needs of the patient.
Provides assessment, consultations and/or treatment services based on clinical practice guidelines and department policies.
Completes documentation in accordance with departmental policies. Develops clinical and student education programs and continuously monitors for effectiveness and outcomes.
Provides/assists with determining staffing levels for therapy services.

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (PT)
