An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychologist to join the Inner Gippsland Area Student Support Services (SSS) team. The SSS Psychologist assesses and develops strategies to address the emotional and mental health needs of children, young people and their families within an educational context.

About the Role
The successful applicant will have a passion for working with schools and young people to maximise student well‑being and engagement. The role involves undertaking assessments, assisting schools with applying for additional funding under the Program for Students with Disabilities, providing support and advice on a range of student well‑being issues, and delivering professional development to schools.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students, including learning, cognitive, behavioural, disability, mental health, and transition issues.

Offer individualized support and advice on trauma, grief, anger management, relationships, conflict, sexuality, and substance use.

Collaborate with other student support services team members on complex cases.

Support teachers in developing educational programs, particularly for students with additional needs.

Prepare policy advice for the school network leadership team.

Maintain clear, accurate written and verbal communication and analytical documentation.

Provide professional development to schools on psychological topics and strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate or post‑graduate qualification in psychology or equivalent.

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).

Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

Working with Children Check.

Experience providing psychological services in a school environment preferred.

Employment Details

Classification: Allied Health Grade 3.

Employment Type: Ongoing, part‑time (0.6 FTE).

Location: Inner Gippsland (based at the Moe Office).
