Role Description
Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry‑Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in San Francisco, CA or Concord, CA.
Role Accountabilities
As part of this role, you will assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
Fieldwork will be a key aspect of this position, offering training to oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, and related tasks. Fieldwork must focus on health and safety.
Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work.
Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
Perform office work including task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimation, health & safety plan preparation, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and subcontractor establishment.
Conduct field work such as soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling. Field work requires regional business travel up to 1–2 days per week on average, with occasional longer trips within the U.S. Estimated travel is up to 75% during the first two years, decreasing to about 50% by the third year. Travel expenses are reimbursable.
Support emergency response teams as needed, potentially requiring unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field (e.g., environmental, biological, physical science).
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
