Assistant Coach, Men’s Wrestling
Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation (DAPER) supports nearly 900 student-athletes across 36 intercollegiate teams. The program is known for outstanding competition and scholars.
Full-time position; contract end date May 31, 2027.
Your Responsibilities Include
Instructing and coaching student-athletes, practice planning, video coordination, and recruiting
Must be able and willing to drill and live wrestle on a daily basis at a Division I level
Coordinating team travel logistics
Assisting with organization required for visiting teams, recruits, and other activities/events
Assisting with wrestling program marketing/promotions and alumni development
Assisting and monitoring student-athlete academic progress
Assisting with the organization and administration of summer camps
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years of coaching experience. Division I collegiate or professional coaching experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers, and the general public
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks under deadlines
Demonstrated ability to set priorities in order to perform a high volume of detailed work with constant interruptions
Flexibility and willingness to work as a team player
Computer literacy with common office applications, such as Word and Excel required
Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of Stanford University, ACC Conference, and NCAA
Ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with a variety of staff and personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. The role must ensure that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains integrity for the university and does not negatively impact relationships. The expected pay range for this position is $72,500–$80,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges that represent good faith estimates of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as scope and responsibilities, qualifications, departmental budget, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
