Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH) at the University of Rochester Medical Center invites applications for a full-time Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care faculty position within the Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Program
Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care attendings are members of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care and work closely within the URMC Congenital Heart Program Service Line. The Pediatric Cardiac Care Center (PCCC) at URMC is a 16‑bed acuity‑adaptable cardiac ICU staffed with:
24/7 in‑house attending physician coverage
Dedicated advanced practice providers
Specialized pediatric cardiac nursing staff
The PCCC provides comprehensive care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery and interventional cardiac procedures. The program includes an active ECMO program and supports GCH’s regional pediatric cardiac surgery program serving Western and Central New York.
Faculty in this role will contribute to:
Clinical care of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
Teaching of pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students
Quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Multidisciplinary collaboration across cardiology, cardiac surgery, and critical care teams
Academic scholarship aligned with institutional priorities
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
MD, DO, or international medical degree equivalent such as MBBS/MBChB/MBBCh
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology preferred
Advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care
Candidates with board certification or eligibility in either Pediatric Critical Care or Pediatric Cardiology will be considered if they have additional advanced training or extensive experience in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care.
Additional requirements include:
Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Commitment to medical education, quality improvement, and academic scholarship
Eligibility for New York State medical licensure and DEA certification prior to credentialing
