
Signal Processing Intern

Description
Leidos tackles the most challenging national defense problems using advanced signal processing algorithms and data analytics. At our San Diego office, we have a dedicated and experienced team of Scientists and Engineers devoted to squeezing the last bit of information from every data set, and we are seeking a Signal Processing Intern. The Intern will have an interest in algorithm research, development, and implementation, and will also possess a strong scientific curiosity and desire to learn new things.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with a mentor to develop cutting edge signal processing and analysis algorithms for national defense.
Work with a mentor to research cutting edge algorithms for radar noise reduction, detection, and characterization.
Work with a mentor to conduct radar data analysis.
Create efficient implementations in software and document results.
Work collegially within a talented team of peers.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently a junior or senior in college working toward a bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in MATLAB, Python, or similar high-level language.
Interest in scientific algorithm development, large dataset analysis, radar detection and characterization, and efficient software implementation.
Interested in innovation, problem solving, and achieving technical results.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability and desire to learn new concepts.
Ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data processing.
Ability to document work.
Pay Range
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
