Bottle Baby ICU Technician

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated full‑time Bottle Baby ICU Technician to provide care for neonatal kittens at our state‑of‑the‑art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus. The schedule is 4 × 10‑hour shifts, including one weekend day.

A Day in the Life:

As a Bottle Baby ICU Technician, you will provide care and treatment for neonatal kittens—bottle‑feeding, tracking feeding and care activities, and ensuring kittens are kept warm and thriving. You will also guide and lead volunteers who assist in caring for neonatal kittens. Your duties may include caring for other animals at the shelter and related tasks as assigned during slower intake periods.
Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a Veterinary Technician program or minimum of 6 months experience in a veterinary hospital.
Experience feeding kittens and puppies.
Love kittens and demonstrate safe, humane handling while caring for them.
Self‑starter who can perform and make a positive impact without direct supervision.
Effective communicator who interacts professionally with volunteers, hospital staff, and shelter personnel.
Ability to answer emergency phone calls from fosters and provide assistance.
Must follow departmental procedures for euthanasia, including administration of drugs.
Proficient with Windows computer systems; able to learn programs such as Chameleon and enter information accurately.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time is spent in a typical air‑conditioned and heated office environment.
