Overview
Neel-Schaffer seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Aviation Project Manager. This person will be based in our Madison (MS) or Jackson (MS) offices, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate.

The ideal Aviation Project Manager candidate will have a strong background in delivering airport infrastructure projects from conception through design and construction completion, to include coordination of team project work, budget/billing management, and compliance. Additionally, the Aviation Project Manager will be actively involved in the day-to-day work to maintain schedules and ensure high quality on projects.
Responsibilities
Ensure and maintain client contact and client satisfaction on assigned projects. Assist airport clients with completing state and federal grant applications and airport capital improvement plans (ACIP).
Oversee project execution from planning and design through bidding, construction, and closeout.
Manage the scope, schedule, budgets, and work plans of assigned projects.
Coordinate the activity of the design team and supporting subconsultants to meet deadlines on assigned projects.
Take the role of Engineer of Record responsible for the technical accuracy of the design plans, specifications and calculations on the assigned projects.
Prepare design reports, opinions of probable construction costs, and recommendations concerning the direction of the project.
Supervise project staff and act as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to the project.
Coordinate, lead and make virtual and in-person presentations to clients, perspective bidders, members of the general public, and/or regulatory agencies as needed for assigned projects.
Consistently use personal work plans to carry out assignments, including revision to accelerate or slow a project when needed.
Assume complete familiarity with the company’s Value Management Program for compliance with QA/QC procedures.
Develop and produce technical solutions consistent with design, client, and company goals.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.
Must hold a Professional Registration in engineering (PE) or the ability to obtain within one year.
PMP or CM certification(s) preferred.
Proficiency with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote).
Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, grant process, and airport design standards.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Domestic travel may be required, mostly in the South/Southeast US. The frequency of travel is contingent on workload and project demands.
Valid driver’s license.
