Job Summary
Heartland Consulting, a Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking exceptional professionals to support the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) Financial Management Directorate (FMG). You will directly advance warfighter readiness by modernizing financial operations, achieving standalone audit readiness, and delivering measurable efficiencies - all strictly within the USUHS environment and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop interactive dashboards and executive-level reports using data visualization tools.
Design and deploy automated tools to streamline manual financial reconciliation processes and increase data integrity.
Identify financial trends, anomalies, and areas for process efficiency within large federal datasets.
Synthesize data from DoW platforms to support audit and leadership decision-making.
Integrate financial audit data with operational metrics to create unified "quality dashboards" for organizational risk.
Required Qualifications
Eight (8) or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial systems management.
Five (5) or more years of experience specifically utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) to develop interactive dashboards and executive-level reports.
Demonstrated experience developing and deploying automated tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, UiPath, or "bots") to streamline manual financial reconciliation processes and increase data integrity.
Experience identifying financial trends, anomalies, and areas for process efficiency within large federal datasets.
Proficiency in utilizing Department of War (DoW) data platforms to synthesize data for audit and leadership decision-making.
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical senior leadership.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Information Technology.
Experience integrating financial audit data with operational metrics to create unified "quality dashboards" for organizational risk.
Certifications in data analytics or process automation (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, or UiPath Certified Professional).
Experience with the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and other DoW financial systems listed in the PWS (e.g., DDRS).
