About The Role
Researches and analyzes the company’s products, markets, and competition. Gathers relevant data through primary market research, secondary analytics and competitive intelligence. Analyzes and summarizes data into insights and recommendations that are presented to cross‑functional teams and occasionally senior leadership.
Your Contributions
For assigned area or project(s), develops the commercial analytics plan, manages related projects, and collects and manages the data in support of the overall plan
Synthesizes complex information from multiple sources (primary market research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence), identifies opportunities, and develops conclusions and recommendations that can be used by Commercial leadership to make better business decisions, better understand customer segments, competitive threats, and to identify opportunities and potential risks
Conducts commercial analytics in one or more of the following areas: targeting, segmentation, promotion evaluation and tracking, launch support, resource allocation optimization, and ad hoc statistical analyses, competitive intelligence, primary market research
Participates in formulation of the annual brand plan, brand/payer strategies, the launch plan and development of key performance indicators
Plans and leads the execution of one or more commercial analytics projects: recommending the appropriate methodology, participating in selecting the vendor, developing the questionnaire/discussion guides with the appropriate internal feedback/input, leading implementation, analyzing results, presenting the findings to key internal customers, and developing actionable recommendations
Develops part of and contributes to the commercial analytics budget and manages administration of assigned budgets
Builds, manages and maintains relationships with key vendors of market research, secondary data, and competitive intelligence

Requirements
Typical Experience or Education:
BS/BA degree in Finance, Marketing, Statistics or related field. AND 6+ years of a combination of secondary analytics, primary market research, and/or competitive intelligence experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Experience within the CNS therapeutic area, launch experience, and managed markets experience preferred. OR
Master’s degree preferred AND 4+ years of related experience
Excellent project management skills
Has knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines
Works to improve tools and processes within functional area
Exhibits leadership skill and ability, typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams
Excellent communications, problem‑solving, analytical thinking skills
Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Outstanding organizational and computer skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Able to flourish in a small, entrepreneurial company environment
Ability to work both independently and cross functionally as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to integrate secondary data, primary market research and competitive intelligence to create insights and actionable recommendations
Excellent working knowledge of the various methodologies of collecting and analyzing secondary data, primary market research, and competitive intelligence
Hands‑on knowledge of working with biopharmaceutical market data (meaning of data, limitations of data, ability to manipulate, etc.) including IQVIA/Symphony Health Services data, anonymized patient‑level data, and sources of data related to access and reimbursement
Understanding of statistical modeling and optimization
Advanced skill level with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word computer programs
Understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing and access/reimbursement with the ability to identify market drivers, trends, issues, competitive impact, etc.
Applies basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, and translation of solutions to business value
Ability to convert market analyses and conclusions into easily understandable and persuasive oral and written presentations. Demonstrated experience in statistical analyses of quantitative research results
Ability to source and work closely with vendors on analytical projects
Salary and Benefits
The annual base salary is $132,700.00–$182,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity‑based long‑term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan with company match, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
