
Design/Project Manager Intern

We are currently seeking an Interior Design/Project Manager intern to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. The intern can expect to work up to 32 hours a week Monday-Thursday (approximately 8 hours per day).
As a Designer/PM Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop professional knowledge by applying standard techniques and procedures to real-world projects. You will bridge the gap between creative design and project execution, supporting the sales team, account managers, and designers to ensure successful furniture installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Specification
Perform light AutoCAD work and assist with furniture floor plan counts.
Create and edit PowerPoint presentations , including design slides and RFP response packages.
Shadow designers during the specification process to learn about commercial and government office furniture.
Update the finish library and research ancillary products.
Project Coordination & Management
Assist in scheduling and monitoring all trades and subcontractors involved in furniture installation.
Track product manufacturing and verify packing lists against orders to ensure delivery accuracy.
Coordinate pre-installation site inspections and verify electrical/data access points.
Participate in site walk-throughs and assist in preparing punch lists for project closeout.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate design or architecture program.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Excel). Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or Sketchup is preferred.
Soft Skills: Must possess strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Logistics: Must be local (no relocation provided) and able to work in a hybrid environment . Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
