
Service Center General Manager

Position Summary
Service Manager duty is to provide service and personnel in support of ANDRITZ Separation Inc. customers to assist with installation, startup, and process performance, training and service of the equipment supplied. The Service Center General Manager will work within the guidelines established by the Senior General Manager – North America.
Typical Duties
Overall operational responsibility of the Service Center location
Ensure all safety requirements are followed and perform regular safety evaluations
Manage overall department and facility profit loss, budgeting, employees
Follow, develop and implement standard policy procedures
Manage all service execution projects for the Service Center facility
Responsible for supporting on‑site service out of Service Center facility as required
Select and manage repair training programs to maximize employee performance in the field and at the Service Center
Provide technical guidance to reporting employees to ensure the correct technicians are assigned and scheduled for equipment being commissioned and serviced
Prepare quotations in coordination with Area Sales Managers for customers
Approve timesheets and expense reports for technicians
Provide customers and internal support departments with timely reports on repairs progression as requested
Prepare Capital Investment request and timely execution to closure on funds approved
Maintain adequate tools required to execute normal work activities in the field and at the facility responsible for
Travel as required
Basic Skills
Mechanical Engineering Degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience
Experience managing a Service facility
Understanding of financial aspects of running a business
Good people skills
Self motivated, goal achiever, organized, strong leadership abilities
Willing to take on challenges and result oriented
Understanding of Service/Repair business demands
High technical aptitude
Computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong knowledge of SAP for quotations and evaluation of margin analysis
Ability to identify requirements for scheduled maintenance of equipment
Safety
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Relationships
Interfaces with vendors, customers and all location managers including supporting departments. Additional duties as assigned by the Senior General Manager.
