Summary
We are seeking a Manager, EHS to lead safety efforts across a multi-state region. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role responsible for driving safety performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering closely with operations across active job sites. This is not a remote or hybrid role. The position requires a consistent presence in the Nashville office when not traveling, along with significant time spent in the field. The role supports a diverse set of operations across multiple business lines, requiring adaptability and the ability to quickly learn different environments.

Travel & Territory
Approximately 50% travel, including a mix of overnight and local/day travel. Travel includes both driving and occasional flights. Coverage includes the Tennessee Valley, Ohio Valley, and Gulf Coast regions.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with branch and field leadership to promote and implement effective safety programs across assigned locations.

Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and work practices.

Develop and implement hazard control programs and monitor effectiveness.

Conduct job site inspections, safety observations, and audits.

Facilitate and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable regulations.

Investigate incidents and accidents, including documentation and root cause analysis.

Partner with Risk Management and medical providers on workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs.

Interface with customers on safety programs, initiatives, and compliance requirements.

Administer emergency response procedures and support safety program execution at the branch level.

Field‑Based Expectations
This is a highly hands‑on role requiring regular presence in active industrial job sites. Responsibilities include:

Climbing scaffolding and accessing elevated work areas.

Entering confined spaces as needed.

Directly engaging with field operations and crews.

Coaching employees and supervisors on safe work practices.

Leadership Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight to a small team of regional and branch safety professionals.

Operate in a player‑coach capacity, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct field involvement.

Support and guide safety performance across multiple branches within the region.

Qualifications

5–10 years of relevant field safety experience.

Experience in industrial services, construction, coatings, abrasive blasting, or similar environments strongly preferred.

OSHA 500, 510, or 511 certifications strongly preferred; additional safety certifications are a plus.

Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA and related regulatory requirements.

Proven ability to influence, coach, and partner with field leadership.

Strong communication and training skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required.

Work Environment & Expectations

Salaried, performance‑driven role with flexibility based on workload and travel.

Requires adaptability to changing schedules and operational demands.

Occasional off‑hours or weekend response may be required in the event of safety incidents, with flexibility provided accordingly.
