Mission

Role Summary
As a Research Data Analyst (RDA) II (considering RDA I), you will generate and analyze data to support budget development, legislation, and evaluation of welfare programs such as CalWORKs, Child Care, and CalFresh. You will design independent research methodologies, perform quantitative analyses, and present findings to management and stakeholders to inform policy decisions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement research methodologies and analytical techniques for complex issues.

Analyze caseload, program, and budget data using advanced statistical methods and software tools.

Prepare reports, briefing documents, and visual presentations for all levels of management.

Communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders to inform policy development.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant research literature, legislative changes, and program conditions.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high quality, data‑driven insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in research and data analysis within a public or social services environment.

Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, STATA, SQL) and data visualization tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

Experience in policy evaluation, program analysis, or budget forecasting is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
