Your Role on the Team
The Manager, Imaging Services is responsible for the operational leadership, technical oversight, and daily supervision of assigned imaging functions within their designated department, modality, or facility. The incumbent is accountable for all operational, administrative, and supervisory activities within the assigned area, ensuring imaging services are delivered safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, and health system standards. This role maintains responsibility for the planning, coordination, and evaluation of imaging operations, including departments of a highly specialized or technically complex nature, as well as areas with multi‑shift operations. This position is accountable for departmental performance, including operational processes and financial stewardship, and collaborates with clinical, administrative, and operational leadership to support quality improvement initiatives, workforce development, technology planning, and the achievement of performance goals. The Manager works under the direction of senior imaging or operational leadership, receiving periodic guidance and feedback while exercising independent judgment in managing day‑to‑day departmental operations, staffing, and the execution of established departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and visitors
Strong analytical skills to collect and analyze operational data
Minimum of 1 year experience in an Imaging Management role / 2 years in an Imaging supervisory role / or 5 years as an Imaging lead technologist role in an acute care setting
Minimum of 1 year experience in a management/supervisory position in a hospital
Knowledge of Title 22 and hospital JCAHO requirements
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated experience with budgetary processes including establishing, maintaining, and reporting income, expenses, and variances
Basic life support (BLS) certification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and management experience
Ability to successfully identify priorities while managing multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, MHA or MHSA or equivalent combination of education and management experience
Lean Six Sigma Training
Knowledge of UCI Medical Center policies and procedures
Licenses and Certifications
Basic Life Support
