Key Responsibilities
Evaluates technical requirements of new and existing products and applies knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to Design Engineering, resulting in savings, lead‑time reductions, system improvements, increased life and/or mitigated risk.
Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
Participate in New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides a competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
Lead the supplier technical audit process, evaluate supplier performance and capability, and drive continuous improvement opportunities. Train other supplier engineers on the audit and evaluation process.
Lead quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root‑cause and correction actions, and identify broad‑based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
Assist in cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers and supply markets to ensure a competitive advantage.
Support new product development and introduction by reviewing process specifications, engineering drawings, and first‑article inspections to ensure integrity and clarity.
Drive systemic supplier performance improvement plans and projects to reduce quality defects and improve supplier capability.
Drive SPC compliance and improvement projects to reduce out‑of‑control conditions.
Conduct process and part audits at supplier sites – part‑to‑print verification, quality management system review, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Become substantively involved in New Product reviews to improve producibility and manufacturability during the product development phase.
Proliferate key learnings and best‑known practices into the supply base.
Prepare and present executive summaries on supplier capabilities, customer and factory escalations.
Lead quality problem resolutions, drive root‑cause and correction actions at suppliers, and communicate back to the business unit executives.
Mfg Part related issue triage to determine correct ownership by BU, Mfg Operations, Mfg Engineering or Supplier.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HeadSmart Operations and CMP Process.
Well versed in quality management systems and methodologies.
Value Stream Mapping.
Creative problem solving.
Manufacturing/machining process development and qualification.
Program/project management.
Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods, and theory.
PFMEA.
Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment.
Understanding the broad scope of a factory’s methods and processes: material control, inspection/QC, cleaning, 5S, tool crib, tool life management, detailing, packaging.
Working knowledge of Excel and JMP.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong team player.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
