Position Summary
The Supervisor for Point of Care Education (POC) develops, conducts and evaluates training of moderate and waived‑complexity testing, including the collection of quality samples to ensure comprehension of curriculum is occurring. The Supervisor collaborates with leadership regarding training milestones, programs, and decisions; identifies educational needs of staff; completes gap analysis/workflow analysis for projects and implementations; identifies areas of improvement, and aligns education to audience need and organizational objectives; produces and delivers training using a variety of modalities, and effective processes; develops, interprets and reviews POC education policies and procedures; serves as a subject area expert and primary resource to clinicians, educators, and leaders for POCT education regulatory requirements; provides supervision and oversight of training programs for assigned team and creates/executes overall vision of education program for specialty area.
Responsibilities
Evaluates education materials and curriculum to ensure alignment with changing workflows, processes and policies.
Creates classes, develops educational content, and oversees services provided by educators for POCT education programs across the organization.
Serves as point of contact for system POCT education programs, leadership, project teams and audiences in area of specialty.
Oversees daily operations for educators in area of specialty, including training schedules and availability.
Develops, executes, and maintains educator onboarding program and continuous professional development.
Develops, designs and customizes courses for system POCT education programs in compliance with MultiCare policy and internal/external regulations.
Evaluates impact of learning and implements ongoing improvements to content and course curriculum.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in applied technology, science, or another related healthcare field; Bachelor of Science preferred.
Four (4) years of combined relevant teaching and technique experience in the area of expertise, including point of care testing such as test performance, quality control procedures and documentation, and specimen collection including capillary and venipuncture.
Minimum of two (2) years previous experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Consideration may be provided to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications.
Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $77,480.00 - $111,467.20 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
