Avila University (Arizona) seeks dedicated adjunct instructors to teach online and hybrid graduate courses in Goodyear. This position supports accelerated graduate programs across a range of subject areas.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality online and hybrid instruction using synchronous and asynchronous methods.

Apply best practices for teaching accelerated adult graduate programs.

Design and employ instructional strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles and professional backgrounds.

Integrate real‑world business datasets and industry case studies into the curriculum.

Assist students in navigating coursework challenges, providing actionable feedback and solutions.

Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages reflection and innovation.

Collaborate with university faculty and program directors to ensure curriculum alignment with current industry trends.

Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in STEM education and emerging AI technologies.

Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional technologies, methods, and assessment practices.

Maintain accurate records of student grades, project evaluations, and attendance within the university’s learning management system.

Ensure compliance with university academic standards and accreditation requirements.

Assist in the coordination of programmatic assessments to monitor the effectiveness of the curriculum.

Qualifications

Required: Doctorate in the related field, or a master’s degree with 10+ years of professional industry experience considered as equivalent.

Required: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience applying subject concepts in a business or research setting.

Preferred: Prior teaching, training, or adjunct faculty experience related to the subject areas.

Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Ability to facilitate virtual team simulations and guide students through conflict resolution and negotiation scenarios.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and time‑management skills.

Familiarity with working on real‑world business datasets and solving industry‑specific problems.

For candidates applying in the Project Management & Operations areas, a valid PMP certificate is required.

Terms of Employment

FLSA Status: Exempt

Role requires professional communication with faculty, staff, and external constituents as a representative of the senior administrative team.

English proficiency for reading, writing, and communicating job‑related content.

Physical demands: Regular sitting, use of keyboard, communication via phone and video technology; moderate office noise level.
