
Interpreter

General Description
The Interpreter must be bilingual in English and Spanish and will facilitate accurate communication between healthcare providers, staff, and limited‑English‑proficient (LEP) patients, ensuring high‑quality, culturally competent care. The Interpreter will provide in‑person or remote interpretation for medical encounters, translate documents and assist with scheduling.
Responsibilities
Accurately interpret between patients, providers and staff during patient check in/out, triage, and exams, ensuring no information is added or omitted.
Act as liaison to ensure understanding and trust between patients and healthcare teams.
Assist with written translation of medical records.
Translate medical documents such as discharge instructions, patient education materials and consent forms.
Assist with scheduling appointments, explaining medical procedures, and communicating follow‑up care instructions.
Perform clerical duties such as phone calls and data entry.
Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma.
Operating a computer is preferred.
Collections or cashier experience is preferred.
Must read and speak Spanish and English fluently.
BLS certification (American Heart Association).
