Adult Education Manager

The Adult Education Manager provides leadership and strategic oversight to support the effective delivery of Adult Education programs. This role oversees key operational areas, including student enrollment, assessment, data and records management, as well as compliance with funder requirements and college policies. The Adult Education Manager also supports the recruitment, development, and evaluation of adjunct faculty, and provides direct supervision and leadership to Adult Education staff. In addition, the Manager represents the department on internal and external committees, working collaboratively to coordinate services and improve outcomes for Adult Education students.
Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate data collection, entry and reporting processes as mandated by ICCB guidelines and requirements.
Oversee student engagement, recruitment, intake, orientation, and enrollment management with the goal of increasing student retention and outcomes.
Support instructor onboarding, development, and evaluation by conducting faculty observations and leading regular professional development opportunities.
Monitor, interpret, and analyze data to make strategic recommendations to the Dean for Adult and Workforce Education for program planning and improvement.
Work with Records and Registration to facilitate seamless registration processes for Adult Education students consistent with college policies and funder requirements.
Evaluate program curriculum to ensure Adult Education department offers relevant and effective instruction in compliance with industry best practices, funder requirements, and college priorities.
Manage assessment policies and practices and delegate the coordination of assessment activities to the full-time assessment specialist.
Identify new grant opportunities and assist with grant writing efforts to secure program funding.
Maintain the security of student records, both physical and electronic.
Develop and coordinate strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners to integrate systems of operations to support student success in transition programs.
Train staff and faculty on the data reporting system for Adult Education grant activities.
Serve as the designated ADA Coordinator for the Adult Education Division, evaluating students for accommodations within the Adult Education program and supporting students in their application for accommodations on high school equivalency exams.
Act as a program liaison with funders as well as employer and community partners.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of program staff, including student workers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Minimum three years of administrative experience in Adult Education or similar program required.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong data collection and interpretation skills.
Experience working with grant funding.
Demonstrated student focus, with passion for serving adults in attaining basic skills and high school equivalency credentials as well as encouraging adult learners’ continued pursuit of education and/or training.
Demonstrated ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization as well as students and employer partners.
Experience with ICCB grant data reporting system and Ellucian Banner (ERP) preferred.
Experience in an educational setting and/or knowledge of Adult Education functions preferred.
Understanding of the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) preferred.
Available to work evenings as necessary.
