Job Description
This position works as a Data Administration Analyst located in the Division of Blind Services Deputy Director's Office. The incumbent will use knowledge of data processing software to collaborate with other data professionals to extract data, create reports based on findings, and monitor key performance indicators/division strategies to assist the Director and Deputy Director in making sound decisions. This is professional work assisting in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and standards for the Division, which will provide quality, sharable, and accessible information throughout the Division.
Duties & Responsibilities

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
Implements policies and procedures designed to strengthen the management of the Division's information resources.
Strategic data planning.
Data integration.
Serve as the coordinator of all agency data administration activities and participates in interagency data coordination.
Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to understand their data needs and develops tools for collecting, organizing and analyzing information.
Creates charts, dashboards, reports, and visualizations (graphs, infographics, etc.) that guide leadership with strategic planning based on data trends and analysis.
Consults with Senior Leadership to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize division/program needs.
Gathers data from multiple sources and structures large data sets to find and report on usable information.
Conducts research and runs statistical analyses on data to identify patterns, relationships, and trends.
Communicates findings in a clear and concise manner.
Assists in the establishment and/or approval of methods and procedures for maintaining information accuracy.
Drafts policies regarding data security and other topics within the scope of duties.
Provides training in data management, information analysis, and information interpretation skills.
Assists users with data entry and other functions of the case management and data system (AWARE).
Assists in or creates user manuals.
Performs quality assurance (cleansing, processing, and validation of data) to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Uses automated tools to remove corrupt data and fix errors.
Manages users and user roles.
Participates in statewide program training.
Completes annual agency training requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to use statistical tools to analyze and interpret complex data sets, including identifying patterns, relationship and trends.
Ability to integrate data from multiple sources and be adept at reporting and writing/presenting findings.
Proficiency in query language, especially SQL.
Experience with popular statistical and machine learning techniques, such as clustering, linear regression, KNN, decision trees, etc.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work with Senior‑Level management and various staff in an information technology environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

– All full‑time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.
Sick Leave
