Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x‑ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times.
Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
Ensure timely follow‑up for lab and x‑ray results; execute follow‑up calls with urgency.
Support front desk staff with check‑in and check‑out procedures when needed.
Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details.
Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
Prepare and shoot X‑Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding.
Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed.
Schedule
Full‑time team members work a rotating 36‑40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12‑hour weekday shifts and every‑other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as‑needed basis.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
BLS Certification.
Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Experience performing X‑Rays desirable.
