Responsibilities
Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
Escort each patient to the operatory in a timely manner.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
Assist in preparing patients for surgery and help monitor vital signs and anesthesia levels.
Confirm medical history with patient and make any necessary changes needed.
Confirm the patient is aware of and educated on the treatment being performed.
Assist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing any necessary materials during surgery.
Accurately document patient information and surgical details into the patient’s electronic health record (EHR).
Assist with post-operative care instructions and ensure proper follow-up.
Stock all operatories and designated sterilization areas.
Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Requirements
Must maintain certification and/or license renewals as required by the state.
Must excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team.
May be required to travel between office locations. Must be insurable by the company’s insurance.
Must be CPR Certified.
Dexterity and manual skills required for handling surgical instruments and assisting with procedures.
