Duties & Responsibilities
Performs the duties of a professional Occupational Therapist for an assigned caseload with emphasis on providing comprehensive care.
Direct Patient Care time (actual time with patients, may vary from scheduled) - includes all direct interventions and patient education that is integrated as a part of treatment session.
Indirect Patient Care (IPC) - time spent in chart review, documentation (direct patient care documentation as well as any other documentation related to patient care), scheduling, attending team or family meetings and rounds (documented as clinic time), ordering equipment, assisting other staff.
Responsible for administrative tasks related to the patient care services they provide, related to department operations, or required for regulatory and organizational compliance. This includes time sheets, case presentations, staff meetings, committee meetings, giving inservices.
Responsible for clinical teaching for students and student clinicians.
May provide academic teaching.
Responsible for professional development and skills for self as well as sharing expertise and participation in development of the role of occupational therapy throughout the health system and within the community.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. (Alternative productivity expectations may be determined within this classification based on fluctuating needs of the department).
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure or Eligibility for licensure as a registered occupational therapist by the State of Illinois under the condition that they have been issued a letter of authorization from the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) allowing them to practice under supervision.
Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Inpatient acute care and/or behavioral health experience preferred.
