
Licensed Therapist-Mobile Crisis Team

Overview
The MCOT team member works under the direction of the Supervisor of MCOT. This position is team based to perform face‑to‑face crisis assessments, crisis intervention, crisis follow‑up and relapse prevention services for individuals with chronic mental illness within Collin County. Services will be provided at the individual’s place of residence, schools, hospitals, jails, and other safe community‑based locations 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, including holidays. Services will be provided to children/adolescents/adults who are physically located in Collin County at the time of the crisis. Team member coordinates, monitors, and provides crisis assessments, safety planning, acts as an advocate and liaison on behalf of the individual served and follows up with individuals for a 90‑day period. Team member works within federal, state, and local guidelines to provide routine case management, skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation as well as community resource education within the 90‑day period. Performs services based in trauma informed and person‑driven care model. Is responsible for initiating and collaboratively completing uniform assessments, then organizing and documenting the recovery plan for services to meet the individual’s identified needs. Team member is responsible for discharge planning and serves as an advocate and liaison on behalf of the individual served. Team member may transport individuals in a center vehicle. This position is cross‑trained with the Crisis Center to perform assessment of crisis resolution and stabilization and linkage to services to reduce inpatient and law enforcement interventions. Other duties as assigned to meet program and individual needs.
Shift Schedule and Work Hours
Shift: Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. (two 12‑hour shifts)
Due to MCOT operating 24/7, employees may be required to work on center holidays if the holiday falls on their scheduled workday.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances that require the use of Paid Time Off, employees are expected to notify their supervisor within 4 hours of their regularly scheduled work time.
Responsibilities
Perform face‑to‑face crisis assessments, interventions, and follow‑up.
Develop safety plans, coordinate and monitor services, advocate for individuals, and maintain a 90‑day follow‑up schedule.
Complete assessments promptly and document concurrent, signed reports by shift end.
Attend monthly team meetings.
Conduct transport of individuals in a center vehicle when required.
Provide crisis resolution and stabilization support in coordination with the Crisis Center.
Target Metrics
Complete assessments as soon as possible within required response times based on urgency level.
Ensure documentation is completed concurrently and signed by the end of shift.
Follow‑up assignments at 24 hours, days 1–7, 30, 60, and 90‑day intervals.
Shift reports communicated at the end of each shift.
90 % of full chart reviews receive a score of 80 or higher.
Bilingual Requirement
If bilingual and receiving stipend, employee will be available to translate for other staff as needed and will utilize approved language in the provision of services as required.

Qualifications – Education, Training, & Experience
Master’s degree and licensed in Texas as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or licensed Psychologist. Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Art (LPHA) required.
Previous crisis experience preferred.
English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of community resources, case management principles, objectives, standards, and methods; and of program policies and procedures.
Ability to complete detailed, concise progress notes on all services provided during the sessions to meet timely documentation standards.
Knowledge and experience in providing rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness.
Ability to assess individuals’ needs, coordinate services, communicate effectively, and train others.
Knowledge of the social services system and ability to connect individuals with appropriate services.
Clear and professional written communication skills.
Logical thinking to handle potentially dangerous or emotional situations; use de‑escalation techniques.
Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively; effective communication with supervisory staff and community partners when needed.
Travel
30 % of travel expected to fit program needs, including transporting individuals in services, traveling to community locations to provide services, and attending meetings and/or trainings at other center locations.
