Job Summary
Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating, and takes patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Responsibilities

Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within the established time frame and/or as requested.

Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.

Interacts with patients and their families effectively.

Helps patients with basic hygiene tasks—such as bathing, dressing, and feeding—and assists with using the toilet when needed.

Assists patients with turning, repositioning in bed, and moving between the bed and a wheelchair if one is used.

Listens to and reports any health concerns patients may have to the nurses.

Qualifications
Education

– High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Licenses and Credentials

– Certified Patient Care Technician (National Center for Competency Testing, NCCT) required.

Experience

– 1–2 years of patient care or medical assisting in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong ability to provide empathetic, patient‑centered care with respect for patients' dignity and privacy.

Ability to accurately monitor and document patient information and report any changes or concerns promptly.

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving patients, and standing for extended periods.

Collaborative mindset to work efficiently with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Ability to respond to patient needs and concerns with resourcefulness and initiative.
