Surgery - General Physician Assistant

Facility in Williamsport, PA seeking Trauma Surgery APP locums coverage Rates: $150/hr - day shift, $160/hr - night shift Opportunity Highlights

• Start Date: July 1, 2026.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7a 7p or 7p 7a).
• Estimated 8 10 shifts per month.
• Minimum 4 shifts per month to be considered.
• Work-Life Balance: No call required.
• Setting: Level II Trauma Center (Inpatient only).
• EMR: Epic.

Clinical Scope & Typical Day Providers work in tandem with Trauma/Acute Care Surgeons, managing a split service of 50% Trauma and 50% Emergency General Surgery (EGS).

• Daily Volume: Average census of 20 patients; 10 consults/day.
• AM Routine: Rounding with the surgical team.
• Surgical Support: Operating Room (OR) first-assisting for cholecystectomies, appendectomies, trauma ex-laps, and colon resections. (No bariatric or foregut).
• Trauma Management: Managing trauma activations and critical care patients.
• Bedside Procedures: Central line and chest tube placement.
• Incision & Drainage (I&D).
• Laceration repairs and wound debridement.
• Staffing: 2 APPs on days / 1 APP on nights.

Provider Requirements

• Profession: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Trauma/Surgical experience.
• Licensure: Active Pennsylvania (PA) State License and PA CSR Required.
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS Required.
• DEA: Required.
• Note: IMLC is not considered for this role.

Credentialing Information

• Timeframe: 90 days to privilege.
• Privileges: Full, Temporary, and Emergency privileges available for qualified files.
