Research in the Mathematics department, including the pursuit of an original research program.
Teaching duties are the equivalent of two courses per year.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary : The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks to fill two Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Associate positions beginning in August 2026. Each position is funded by the NSF Geometry and Topology Research and Training Group (RTG) and is anticipated to be of two years duration, with summer support, and with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The RTG brings together students and researchers in the areas of algebraic geometry, geometric topology, and symplectic geometry.
Due to grant requirements, the position is only open to US citizens and permanent residents. Teaching duties are two courses per year. Postdocs are expected to participate in the research life of the Department, including pursuing an original research program. Applicants should show promise of moving toward excellence in conducting significant research in an area closely related to the RTG focus, as well as moving toward the potential for high quality teaching in university mathematics classes.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
A Ph.D., or equivalent foreign degree, in Mathematics or a related field is needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/Or Competencies
Applicants should show promise of moving toward excellence in conducting significant research in an area closely related to the RTG focus, as well as moving toward the potential for high quality teaching in university mathematics classes.
Physical Demands

The postdoc will perform research in mathematics or a related area and teach classes. This can be done sitting or standing and involves communicating via speaking, writing, or via the assistance of technology.
