Position
We are looking for: Nursing/ICU Veterinary Technician
Proposed Schedule: Wed‑Sat 4 p‑12 a
The hiring range for this position is $27.25 – $35.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our evening caregivers with lucrative shift differentials.
Hours worked between 8 p‑11:59 p m = base pay + $4 / hour
Hours worked between 12 a‑8 a m = base pay + $6 / hour
Hours worked on Saturday and Sunday (day or night) = base pay + $3 / hour + any applicable differentials.
What you’ll do
Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
Provide client education including home care instructions, medication indications and adverse reactions, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
Perform in‑house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
Who you are
State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
Prior veterinary experience required, previous nursing or critical care experience desired
Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
