Position Details
The Laboratory Analyst supports the Medicated Feed Additives business at the Willow Island, WV site. The role is within the Quality team, providing testing and release support to the manufacturing site.
The hourly rate range is $23.00 – $30.00. The schedule is 4–10 hour rotating daytime shifts covering weekends. Overtime may be required depending on business needs.
The candidate should meet the criteria for an Analyst III, IV, or V level as described below.
Key Responsibilities
Receives and prepares samples for analytical testing and initiation of stability studies.
Performs physical testing of routine and non‑routine samples with little supervision, including raw materials, in‑process testing, API & finished goods release, and stability testing.
Supports site quality, safety, and production goals compliantly and works within cross‑functional teams.
Coordinates own work and assists the lab to complete priority projects.
Completes all activities following site cGMP, safety requirements and Phibro standards.
Conducts laboratory activities related to experiments, studies, and projects in support of production, laboratory, or other Phibro groups.
Understands and follows cGMP regulations and maintains data in accord with GMP and SOPs.
Participates in projects and follows through to completion.
Supports laboratory operations using technical ability to run routine samples independently, recognizes abnormal results or instrument problems, reports them to supervision, and provides input toward solutions.
Performs routine tests and experiments following compendial or standard procedures.
Utilizes lean and 5‑S principles.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory basic equipment such as balances, pH meters, sieves, ovens, and advanced equipment such as viscosity, Karl Fisher, UV/VIS, HPLC, GC.
Maintains and follows SOPs in their work area and can assist in other areas.
Generates protocols and executes projects with little oversight; may lead a project or be responsible for completion.
May assist with writing and revising procedures.
May be assigned to projects dealing with special samples that require method modifications under close supervision.
Records test results on standardized forms, prepares reports, charts, and graphs to aid in evaluation and interpretation of data.
Investigates aberrant data, generates summary reports, and applies problem‑solving techniques in a team environment.
Serves as a subject‑matter expert in procedures for their area and provides training within and outside the department.
Maintains a safe, clean working area and assists others in doing the same.
Works regularly with Analysts, Scientists, and Management staff on receipt and preparation of QC test samples and stability study samples.
Follows good documentation practices and adheres to Phibro core beliefs, demonstrating exemplary behavior. Identifies EHS hazards and proposes solutions to improve lab/safety compliance.

Education & Experience
Analyst III:
High school degree or equivalent with approximately 10 years lab experience, preferably in an FDA‑regulated environment; or a 2‑year degree with approximately 3 years’ experience; or a B.S. degree in a related scientific field with approximately 1.5 years of experience.
Analyst IV:
High school degree or equivalent with approximately 15 years lab experience, preferably in an FDA‑regulated environment; or a 2‑year degree with approximately 5 years’ experience; or a B.S. degree in a related scientific field with approximately 3 years of experience.
Analyst V:
High school degree or equivalent with approximately 20 years lab experience, preferably in an FDA‑regulated environment; or a 2‑year degree with approximately 10 years’ experience; or a B.S. degree in a related scientific field with approximately 5 years of experience.
