Overview
Mental Health Technician Opportunity:
Part Time, Approximately 24 hours per week. Must attend a two week paid hospital orientation from 8:30am-5:00pm M-F.
Responsibilities
Mental Health Technicians provide routine non-acute physical care for the patient as well as educational groups based on needs identified in the Master Treatment Plan.
Job duties include facilitating group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
Ensure patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
Provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

Qualifications
Education
High School diploma or GED required
College degree preferred.
Experience
Experience may be accepted in lieu of college course work.
Other Skills
Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including the disease of addiction.
Must have clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.
