As a Refrigeration Technician 3, you will be a vital member at one of our Alaskan processing facilities. This role is a highly skilled technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex refrigeration systems in various settings, such as commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or large-scale refrigeration plants. You will work independently, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex refrigeration issues and providing technical expertise to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of refrigeration systems. Refrigeration Technician 3s often lead or supervise teams of technicians and may be involved in project management and system design.
Requirements
Essential Functions/Qualifications
Oversee and manage Refrigeration, Electrical, and HVAC systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and repairs (Compressors, condensers, fans, heating, cooling, contactor, motors, microprocessors, frequency drives).
Administer preventive maintenance (PMs) within established timelines (Oil analysis, filter changes, calibration of sensors and transducers, compressor alignment checks/adjustments).
Ensure regular leak detection, conduct required inspections and reporting, evaluate and implement energy management strategies.
Maintain product integrity through temperature monitoring and control, evaluate and report equipment condition.
Communicate clearly and concisely with management.
Log time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as work orders and PMs.
Daily communicate all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and maintenance teams.
Perform housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and all project areas daily.
Interpret and understand plans, specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals for systems being overseen.
Help and train lower-level operators.
Assist building and material handling equipment maintenance teams when needed, including general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and other maintenance activities.
Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Other duties as assigned to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.
Functional Competencies
Advanced Refrigeration Knowledge: In-depth understanding of refrigeration theory, principles, and components.
Complex System Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex refrigeration systems, including those with multiple stages or specialized equipment.
Installation and Design: Experience in installing and designing refrigeration systems, including layout, component selection, and piping.
Project Management: Ability to manage refrigeration projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
Supervisory Skills: Experience leading and mentoring a team of technicians.
Safety Regulations: Adherence to safety regulations and procedures, including EPA Section 608 compliance.
Technical Documentation: Ability to prepare technical documentation, such as system diagrams, maintenance records, and reports.
Interpersonal Competencies
Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of technicians.
Communication: Effective communication with customers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Education and Experience
Certified in Refrigeration/Electrical, Trade School Certification, or Equivalent. RETA CIRO, CRST and CRES Certifications Required.
Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration & CFC Certification.
Knowledgeable in HVACR.
Must be willing and able to obtain OSHA HAZMAT 24-hour training within.
